Marylin Flores Velazquez is a student at Cañada College, pursuing an associate degree in Biology and Chemistry with a focus on Veterinary Medicine and a minor in Business Entrepreneurship. Marylin’s BUILD journey began at a young age when she shadowed her older siblings during their BUILD events and sessions. As a member of the Youth Advisory Panel, Marylin has shared and reflected on her experiences within the public school system, advocating for programs that inspire and encourage students to become confident leaders in their communities. Through collaboration with various programs and organizations such as MenloEDU, she continues to present the research, progress, and impact made alongside her fellow youth advisors. As a BUILD alum, Marylin remains dedicated to giving back to her community by volunteering at BUILD events. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at local animal shelters, going on nature walks with her two dogs, and baking.
