Colorado State University and Poudre School District

Sarah Fonte is a long-time multilingual educator with a strong background in mathematics and science education in addition to literacy. Currently she teaches middle school Spanish for Heritage Speakers in Fort Collins, Colorado. She is also a doctoral candidate in Education, Equity, and Transformation at Colorado State University.

Her teaching and research focuses on culturally and linguistically affirming and sustaining practices for multilingual speakers of Spanish in public school settings. She loves the day-to-day with her students and is excited to bring deep practical and theoretical knowledge to the AIMS team. Sarah also appreciates keeping her foot in the door of the innovative and creative mathematics education community.

When she is not busy thinking about all things education and equity (which she admittedly tends to overthink), Sarah loves all mountain sports, binge-watching telenovelas, and is attempting to teach her two teenagers how to drive.
