Stephanie Layson
Catalyst Public Schools (K-12)
Stephanie Layson is the founding and current High School Principal at Catalyst Public Schools in Bremerton, Washington. With over 15 years of experience as a middle and high school educator, she is deeply committed to student success.
Stephanie earned her bachelor’s degree in German Language and Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in Special Education from George Washington University. She is currently pursuing a second master’s in Educational Leadership at the University of Washington.
Before moving to Washington state, Stephanie spent 10 years teaching in Washington, D.C., in both traditional public and public charter schools, working with students in grades 4 through 8 across multiple subjects. As Director of High School Placement, she helped students and families secure scholarships and admissions to top high schools nationwide.
Outside of education, Stephanie enjoys hiking and kayaking in the gorgeous PNW. A passionate reader, she keeps up with young adult fiction but also loves a good murder mystery or thriller.
