Keri Leistman is an experienced educator from Brooklyn, New York, with 13 years of service in New York City Public Schools. Having grown up in Brooklyn and attended elementary and middle school in District 14; Keri’s deep connection to her community fuels her passion for teaching. Over the years, she has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math, as well as Algebra 1, with a focus on helping students build a strong foundation in mathematical concepts.

For the past five years, Keri has thrived as a Peer Collaborative Teacher at MS 582, collaborating with colleagues to enhance instructional practices and improve student learning outcomes. This school year, Keri is stepping into the role of Instructional Coach, where she supports math and special education teachers across the district, working to strengthen teaching strategies and further elevate student success.

Keri’s dedication to fostering academic growth and her commitment to supporting her peers reflect her passion for education and her drive to make a lasting impact on both students and educators.
