Purpose/Abstract

This resource catalogs self-report scales that can be used or adapted to assess student perceptions of belonging in math.

The catalog includes established belonging measures from education, psychology, STEM, and mathematics research, along with definitions, citation counts, reliability information where available, response formats, and scale items.

For many measures, the resource also provides suggested math-belonging adaptation versions that translate broader school, STEM, institutional, or classroom belonging items into math-specific language.

Appendices include original screenshots of selected scales with psychometric data, additional considerations for scale development, and references.
