MAP Accelerator is a web-based learning platform that aims to help school districts and teachers differentiate mathematics instruction by using students’ MAP Growth test results.
This report examines the relationship between MAP Accelerator usage and math achievement growth during the 2021-22 school year, using data from 278 U.S. districts, 1,367 schools, and 329,957 students in grades 3 through 8.
Students who used MAP Accelerator for 30 or more minutes per week exceeded expected growth projections by 26% to 38%, depending on grade. A year-over-year analysis also found that students who increased their MAP Accelerator usage showed corresponding improvements in MAP Growth performance.
The report notes that the study was not a randomized experimental design, but the findings provide support for MAP Accelerator as a tool associated with positive growth in student achievement.
