Purpose/Abstract

This paper describes UpGrade, a new open-source tool for A/B testing in educational software.

The authors motivate UpGrade’s approach, describe its development goals and software architecture, and provide a brief overview of working within UpGrade to define and monitor experiments.

The paper concludes with avenues for future research and development.
