Purpose/Abstract

As part of a research-practitioner partnership with East Baton Rouge Parish School System, LSU Social Research & Evaluation Center, and DreamBox Learning, the team evaluated educator perceptions of implementing a digital learning platform in K-12 math classes.

The aim was to identify ways to optimize both the program and the implementation to better enable educators to facilitate student success in math, especially for students who may be struggling.

As an initial step, the team asked educators about their experiences. This report outlines the procedures and detailed examples of educator perceptions from eight focus groups.

These perceptions generally fell into negative and positive perceptions of both student and educator engagement with the digital learning program, along with additional concerns and suggestions educators had about implementing new technologies.
